What we do

How does Avant protect my personal information?

To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings.

We restrict access to your information to those employees who need to know it to provide products or services to you.

How does Avant collect my personal information?

We collect your personal information, for example, when you

apply for a credit product offered through the Avant platform or give us your income information

tell us where to send the money or provide employment information

show us your government-based ID

We also collect your personal information from others, such as credit bureaus, affiliates, or other companies.

Why can’t I limit all sharing?

Federal law gives you the right to limit only

sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes—information about your creditworthiness

affiliates from using your information to market to you

Definitions

Affiliates

Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

Our affiliates include financial companies such as Avant, LLC, Avant of California LLC, Avant of Idaho, LLC, Avant of Wisconsin, LLC, Avant of Illinois, etc.

Nonaffiliates

Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

Nonaffiliates we share with may include financial service providers, non-financial companies, and other businesses

Joint marketing

A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you.

Notice to California Residents.

Under California law, we will not share information we collect about you with companies outside of Avant, unless the law allows. For example, we may share information with your consent or to service your account. We will limit sharing to the extent required by California law.

 

Notice to Nevada Residents.

Notice to Vermont Residents

In accordance with Vermont law, Avant will not share information we collect about Vermont residents with companies outside of Avant except as permitted by law, such as with the consent of the customer, to service the customer's accounts or to other financial institutions with which we have joint marketing agreements. We will not share creditworthiness information about Vermont residents among Avant's affiliates except with the authorization or consent of the Vermont resident.

 

ONLINE PRIVACY POLICY

This policy describes how Avant, LLC (“Avant”) collects, aggregates, and uses the information provided and obtained, as well as information collected offline.

 

COOKIES.

"Cookies" are small data files transferred by a website to your computer's hard drive. Avant or its service providers send cookies when you surf our site or sites where Avant ads appear, make purchases, request or personalize information, or register yourself for certain services. Accepting the cookies used on our site, sites that are "powered by" another company on Avant's behalf, powdered by Avant for another company, or sites where our ads appear may give us access to information about your browsing preferences, which we may use to personalize and enhance your experience. Cookies are typically classified as either "session" cookies or "persistent" cookies.

  • Security Cookies – Session cookies used to support security measures within the site.
  • Yield Manager – This is a tracking pixel that records traffic coming from 3rd party sources.
  • LivePerson – A tracking pixel used to track web session for customer service web chat.
  • Avant – Contains a session cookie recognizing applicant to process credit applications through completion.
  • Iovation – Contains a cookie to identify an applicant’s electronic device.
  • DoubleClick – This is a tracking pixel that records traffic coming from 3rd party sources.
  • H Online – Contains a cookie to identify an applicant’s electronic device.
  • Google Analytics – Web analytics tracking.
  • Google Adwords – Conversion tracking.

 

What Additional Information Avant collects:

In addition to the information listed above, additional collected information may include:

  • Basic identifying information (for example, your name, address, email, telephone number, and date of birth);
  • Employment information, and other account qualification information;
  • Network or device related information such as an IP address;
  • Information about your physical location;
  • Anonymous information about the webpages you visit; and
  • Any personal information that you provide.

 

How long does Avant keep personal information collected online?

  • Avant may keep records of any information and transactions that a customer enters into or provides in accordance with Avant’s record retention policies.
  • Avant may still need to keep personal details of customers to ensure that systems reflect your preferences even if a customer has chosen to opt out of allowing Avant to use that customer's personal details for marketing purposes.
  • Avant may keep other information about a customer only to the extent necessary to comply with applicable laws and to further legitimate business needs.

 

Third Party Websites.

We use third party advertising and media companies to serve ads on our behalf across the Internet and to help manage and optimize our Internet business and communications. Through the use of Cookies, such third party companies may collect anonymous information about your visits to our site and your interaction with our ads and content. For instance, they may keep track of how many of our ads you have seen on other websites before visiting our website. This information is used to understand your browsing behavior and interests so that we can identify your needs and provide service that is tailored to you.

 

Browser Signals.

We do not currently take actions to respond to “Do Not Track” signals from your browser because a uniform technological standard has not yet been developed. We continue to review new technologies and may adopt a standard once one is created.

The effective date of this policy is the date provided above. Any updates or changes to the policy will be posted on this website with the new effective date of changes. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you by sending you electronic notification of the changes. Please check this policy each time you use our websites to ensure you are aware of any changes in our practices. For quality assurance purposes, we and our authorized partners may monitor or record all telephone communications.
