Financial companies choose how they share your personal information. Federal law gives consumers the right to limit some but not all sharing. What we do

How does Avant protect my personal information?

To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings.

We restrict access to your information to those employees who need to know it to provide products or services to you.

How does Avant collect my personal information?

We collect your personal information, for example, when you

apply for a credit product offered through the Avant platform or give us your income information

tell us where to send the money or provide employment information

show us your government-issued ID

We also collect your personal information from others, such as credit bureaus, affiliates, or other companies.

Why can’t I limit all sharing?

Federal law gives you the right to limit only

sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes—information about your creditworthiness

affiliates from using your information to market to you

sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you

State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing. See below for more on your rights under state law.

Our affiliates include financial companies such as Avant, LLC, Avant of California LLC, Avant of Idaho, LLC, Avant of Wisconsin, LLC, Avant of Illinois, etc.


Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

Nonaffiliates we share with may include financial service providers, non-financial companies, and other businesses

Joint marketing

A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you.

Notice to California Residents.

Under California law, we will not share information we collect about you with companies outside of Avant, unless the law allows. For example, we may share information with your consent or to service your account. We will limit sharing to the extent required by California law.
